Changchun charms the world via foreign media

Fourteen journalists from nine countries were invited to Changchun from Aug 31 to Sept 4 to experience the economic achievements made by the city over the past 40 years.

Their stories about Changchun have been published by a number of foreign mainstream media, including Egypt's China Today, Japan's Tokotoko and South Korea's Naverchinalab.com, promoting a new Changchun to the world.

The foreign journalists were deeply impressed by the great changes taken place in the capital city of Jilin province after touring the Urban Planning Exhibition Hall and various newly-built economic development zones.

They were also invited to the ceremony of the 14th Changchun Film Festival, where they witnessed the great development of China's cultural industry.

While visiting the shipping container center located along the Sino-Euro Cargo Railway, some journalists offered their insights into the future development of Changchun.

"I think the new cargo routes will further boost trade between China and economies involved in the Belt and Road Initiative, and Changchun will play a crucial role in that course," said Belkova Maryna, a reporter of Russia and China magazine.
