Serial tennis competitions open in Baotou

The 2018-2019 French Open China Elite Series (U10/U14) kicked off at the Baotou Sports Center Tennis Hall on Sept 15, attracting 64 young tennis players from cities and leagues from Inner Mongolia including Baotou, Hohhot and Wuhai, reports Baotou Daily.

Baotou is the first stop for the domestic tennis series. This season's series will host five city stops and one final. The winners will be invited to Paris, France to participate in the 2019 French Open.

The city stop competitions arranged four groups: U10 boys’ singles, U10 girls’ singles, U14 boys’ singles and U14 girls’ singles. There are 16 players in each group.

Each city stop competition lasts for two days and is carried out in two phases. The first phase is the group round robin and the second phase is the knockout round.
