China International Automobile Tourism Convention to start in Ordos

The 2018 China International Automobile Tourism Convention will open in Racing Town, Ordos, Inner Mongolia autonomous region, on Sept 22, two days ahead of the Mid-autumn Festival. 

During the convention, a series of events will be organized, including the 2018 China Motor Home Culture Festival, 2018 China Automobile Tourism Music Festival, 2018 National Rally Challenge Car Racing, 2018 China Pickup Truck Convention, an exhibition of local products, a self-driving tour in scenic areas of Ordos and other activities. 

The event was hosted by the China Automobile News, China City News, China National Automotive Journalist Association, Ordos tourism authority, Kangbashi government and Ordos Culture Tourism Development Group Co. 

The convention, which has been held for two consecutive years, was designed to promote the lifestyle of self-driving car tours and get people to better understand automobile-related culture.

The site for the convention is the Racing Town, Kangbashi district in Ordos, which covers an area of nearly 10 square kilometers. 

The town, with a theme of automobile-related culture, is a park integrating tourism, catering, accommodation and commerce. 

Around 160 drivers will drive their motor homes to camp at Racing town during the convention. Visitors can also watch performances by several bands from Beijing and Inner Mongolia while viewing the competition.
