Located at the southwestern foothill of Dashu Mountain in the western suburb of Hefei, East China's Anhui province, Hefei Wild Animal Park is 15 kilometers away from the city center, bounded by Huanshan Road in the east and Dashu Mountain Forest Park in the west, covering an area of 102 hectares.
The mountains in the park are undulating, and the winding paths lead to secluded places. Surrounded by luxuriant vegetation and towering trees, the park boasts fresh air and clean water. There are more than 2,000 animals, covering more than 100 species. The theme of the animal park is "The Earth – A Space Shared by Humans and Animals", while its design principle is "being natural, simple, appealing and charming". Based on different animals' environmental requirements, the park simulates their living conditions in the wild, skillfully combining the animal exhibition halls with the natural environment. The accessorial buildings in the park are made of natural or nature-simulated materials through artificial landscaping, and are integrated with the surrounding environment. The terrain of the park is undulating, covered with forests and green grass, where animals can move freely and visitors can feel as if they have returned to the wild.
