Smart robots offer convenience at Guangzhou airport

The World Routes 2018 wrapped up in Guangzhou on Sept 18 and Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport launched 80 robots on the special day to provide more convenient services for the travelers.

According to the insiders, a total of 200 robots will be launched at the airport, providing flight information, real-time positioning, map navigation and other services.

The robot, "Cloud", is equipped with high-definition camera and sensor system, touch-screen tablet computer, and integrates central processing system with face recognition, multi-language interaction and information interconnection function, which can be customized according to the application scene of the airport.

Currently, functions such as flight inquiry, information consultation, real-time positioning and map navigation are available. Other functions such as multilingual interaction, boarding pass printing, AR indoor navigation, regional patrol, weather inquiry, satisfaction survey will be released in the near future.

In recent years, Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport has comprehensively promoted smart airport construction, striving to offer full-process self-service services including self-service baggage check, face recognition for security check, QR code boarding services and smart parking. In terms of technological innovation and convenient travel, the airport has led the development of the domestic civil aviation industry.
