Multi-storey parking lot to ease congestion in Pingtan

The construction of a multi-storey parking lot in Pingtan is expected to finish in December. It is hoped that upon completion, it will ease parking congestion in the downtown area.

Covering 2,200 square meters, the parking lot is divided into one four-floor garage and two nine-floor garages, which can accommodate 195 cars at the same time.

Auxiliary facilities such as monitor rooms and fire control rooms are also under construction.

"We used steel structure for internal support and aluminum veneer for the exterior wall. Compared with the traditional concrete structure, our design is more convenient in construction and causes less pressure on the foundation," said Li Jihuang, a representative of the parking lot construction company.

Automatic vertical lifting platforms in the parking lot can put cars in vertical carports as long as drivers leave their cars in the designated area.

Li added that a nationally advanced system is being applied, allowing car owners to make reservations for carports on a mobile phone application and give orders on the application to have their cars directly transmitted to the entrance.
