Colorful Guizhou Singing Contest concludes in Guiyang

The 2018 Colorful Guizhou Singing Contest successfully came to an end in Guiyang, capital city of Guizhou province, on Sept 14.

After wonderful performances, 18 singers won awards in three different singing styles. Wang Jing, Zhang Lei from Anshun city and Yang Dairun from the Qiandongnan Miao and Dong autonomous prefecture won the first prize for national singing, popular singing and bel canto singing with high scores of 98.951, 98.847 and 98.953, respectively.

Hosted by the Publicity Department of Guizhou Province, the contest attracted more than 100,000 participants since it started auditions in July. It is open to students, cadres, teachers, doctors, workers and farmers aged between 18 and 60, giving rise to wide public interest and discussion.

It is worth mentioning that the contest adopted some new original songs of Guizhou in stunning performances themed on the "China Dream" to show Guizhou's new achievements since the contest was held in 2005.

The video of the contest will be broadcast on Channel 4 of Guizhou Broadcasting & TV Station at 9:55 pm from Oct 1 to 6. Excellent performances and programs that emerged in the contest will also be showcased at the end of October during the 2018 Guizhou Cultural Art Festival.
