Hunan Intangible Cultural Heritages Show Held in Poland

Several Hunan's intangible cultural heritages were displayed in Warsaw, Poland's capital, on September 12. They included Hunan embroidery, Tantou woodblock new year painting, and palm weaving.

A Hunan Tourism Promotion event was launched in Warsaw that day, co-sponsored by the Hunan Provincial Cultural Department and the China-Poland Exchange and Development Foundation. The Hunan-Poland Intangible Cultural Exchange Week opened in the meantime. Nine intangible cultural inheritors made handicrafts on the site, attracting numerous visitors.

Poland’s Ministry of Sport and Tourism Secretary of State Jaroslaw Stawiarski said that, Poland and China established comprehensive strategic partnership in 2016. Since then, the two counties have achieved fruitful results in tourism cooperation. China has abundant tourism resources. Poland welcomes Chinese travelers, while encouraging Polish people to visit China.

CPC Hunan Provincial Committee Deputy Secretary Wu Lan hoped this event will promote Hunan’s tourism products, and give the Polish people a better understanding about Hunan, so as to accelerate the tourism exchange and cooperation between Hunan and Poland.

Later, Hunan artists staged a special Chinese show, including folk music, puppet show, and face-changing performance. The show came to a climax when an ensemble, Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon was performed by Chinese folk music instrument player and Polish pianist.
