Media delegation highlights great progress of Dahua

More than 60 journalists from Guangdong province and Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region gathered in Dahua Yao autonomous county from Sep 3 to 6 to report the great changes since the founding of the county in 1988.

Organized by the local government, the media tour drew the attention of dozens of news media to conduct more in-depth interviews about the county and gained deep insights into the minority cultures of Zhuang and Yao ethnic groups.

Situated in the middle reach of the Hongshui River with a population of 470,000, Dahua Yao autonomous county is an hour's drive from Nanning, capital of Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region. With rich natural resources and a long cultural history, the county is renowned for silica mining, Yao culture, and longevity towns.

To make great breakthroughs in modern agriculture, new industries of tourism service and e-commerce, the county has given impetus to the process of industrialization, informatization and urbanization, and it invested three billion yuan ($436.6 million) to set up a demonstration project of environmental migration to protect the local environment. Moreover, Dahua devoted itself to the constructing public infrastructure and improving centralized water supply facilities.

After years of hard work, the county has achieved initial success in all areas. With the China (Dahua) Hongshui River Longevity Health E-commerce City going into operation on Jan 31, its e-commerce has shown booming growth, and the county was also dubbed as the national comprehensive e-commerce demonstration county. Additionally, it invests 20 million yuan every year to accelerate the tourism industry, contributing the continuous progress in the development of the all-for-one tourism.
