Guangzhou held a transportation drill on Sept 6 to ensure the city can provide smooth transportation services and deal with emergencies during the imminent World Routes 2018.
The southern Chinese city will host World Routes 2018 and the 24th World Route Development Forum from Sept 15 to 18. Representatives and officials from airlines, airports, governments and tourism departments will gather in Guangzhou to talk about airline and air service development opportunities on a global scale.
The traffic protection simulation exercise organized 24 buses, six minibuses, 11 cars and 130 volunteers to participate in the drill.
The exercise tested procedures for five major traffic situations, including airport welcoming and escort, the opening ceremony of the conference, the celebration banquet and emergency response, and covered over 20 scenes including vehicle dispatch and route planning.
During the World Routes 2018, Guangzhou Public Transport Group Baiyun Company, which has served many international events such as the Guangzhou Asian Games and the Fortune Global Forum 2017, will provide transportation services to guests from across the world.
