A new self-service machine which allows Chinese nationals to apply for the documents required to enter Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan has been in service in the civil affairs hall of Qingshan district in Baotou, Inner Mongolia autonomous region since September, according to Baotou Daily.
Residents of Inner Mongolia can apply for the Hong Kong, Macao or Taiwan travel documents for their first two visits to each destination.
The machine has helped simplify the application process and cut waiting times, according to the local government.
