The 16-day Asian Games in Jakarta, capital of Indonesia, saw 11 athletes from Shanxi province win seven medals for the Chinese sports delegation.
Shanxi athletes took part in events spanning 10 major categories including shooting, wrestling, swimming, judo and canoeing.
Zhao Ruozhu, a 20-year-old female athlete from Linfen city, won the first gold for Shanxi province during the women's 10m air rifle final on Aug 20. And Zhao and Yang Haoran won silver in the 10m air rifle mixed team final on Aug 19.
The other two gold medals were won by rising star Ma Yanan from Taiyuan city for the women's Canoe Double 500m final on Aug 30, and Dong Dong in the men's trampoline final, who bounced his way to gold for the third time in a row at an Asian Games event.
Pei Xingru from Yuncheng city bagged silver in the women's freestyle 57 kilograms wrestling competition on Aug 20. Zhao Yating, another Yuncheng competitor, received bronze for the rhythmic gymnastics individual all-around final on Aug 28.
On Sept 1, Zhang Wen from Linfen city along with her fellow team members also gained bronze in the judo mixed team final.
