Sales of No 92 gasoline will be fully replaced by ethanol gasoline from Sept 1 in Hechi, and will be discontinued the same day, according to a notice released by the Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region.
Ethanol gasoline, a clean energy processed by cereals and various plant fibers, is at present a development priority of renewable energy sources worldwide. It is expected to bring about preferable economic and social benefits with advantages of energy saving and a friendly environmental effect.
Jinchengjiang district of Hechi city has replaced the traditional gasoline with ethanol at all major gas stations, according to a reporter.
Qin Yong, general manager assistant of Sinopec Hechi Company, stated that vehicles can refuel with ethanol directly. Car owners, however, should pay regular attention to any leaks in their fuel tanks as moisture from the air may mix with the gasoline, which, in turn, will affect the normal working of the engine.
