The 9.18 Historical Museum in Shenyang, Northeast China's Liaoning province, reopened to the public on Sept 1, after being renovated for more than three months.
In addition to upgrading the fire protection systems, air conditioning equipment, and waterproofing of roofs, renovations work also carried out on outer walls of the exhibition halls and the entrance gate of the square.
The renovation work is the largest-scale project taking place at the site since the museum was established in 1999.
Also, a tourist service center and a parking lot were set up at the entrance, providing visitors with more convenience.
