Yiwu app proving popular amongst foreign businessmen

An app operated by government agencies in Yiwu, Zhejiang province has become popular amongst businessmen who are looking for partners to do business with, especially proving popular with international businessmen in China.

The app, named "Yiwu market credit" (义乌市场信用), has been installed around 75,000 times and used more than 16,000 times since it has been launched on January 9, 2018, according to official statistics.

It was jointly launched by Yiwu's taxation department and local market supervisors to facilitate business cooperation. The app includes Yiwu merchants' tax credit data, as well as local honest and dishonest enterprise lists.

Foreign businessmen can obtain the status of local businessmen's tax payments by searching the shops' or businessmen's names on the app, said a Brazilian purchaser.

Currently, Yiwu has around 15,000 permanent international businessmen from more than 100 countries, and more than 400,000 foreign purchasers go to Yiwu every year, making the city a hotbed for international trade and an ideal place for the app to operate.
