A launch ceremony for Datong e-port was held in Datong International Inland Port on Aug 28, marking a new stage of the city's opening-up.
Built in June 2016 with a planning investment of 5.6 billion yuan ($819.41 million), Datong International Inland Port has 10 functional areas including a bonded logistics center and a national quarantine inspection center for coarse cereals.
Currently, some of the 10 functional areas, such as the designated inspection area for imported meat, have completed construction and begun operations.
The Datong e-port will provide foreign trade companies in Datong and nearby cities with low-cost and efficient trade services.
