Hainan Airlines Monday launched a direct flight between Shenzhen and Zurich, the first non-stop service between southern China's Guangdong province and Switzerland.
This is also Hainan Airlines' seventh intercontinental service from Shenzhen.
The route will be operated by a Boeing-787 Dreamliner, with two round trips per week on Mondays and Fridays.
The service will not only be convenient for business people and tourists but will also further promote economic, cultural, and tourism cooperation between Guangdong and Switzerland, the company said.
Later this year, Shenzhen Bao'an Airport is scheduled to open direct flights to more cities, including London and Vienna, to boost links with Europe, North America, and Oceania.
