Intl shopping festival to kick off in Guangzhou

The 2018 Guangzhou International Shopping Festival will open in Tianhe district on Sept 29.

Guangzhou has hosted this annual shopping celebration along with Singapore, France, England, Australia, the United States, New Zealand and Canada since 2012. This year, the shopping gala will feature the unique Germanic cultural charm by presenting Germany's cultural art, business brands and scientific and technological achievements.

During the event, the main venue will be the Grandview Mall where German architecture will be showcased through artistic presentations.

The Parc Central, TeeMall and K11 malls will also participate in bringing a bit of Germany to Tianhe district.

The annual festival, in just six years of development, has not only promoted the development of Tianhe but has also been a source of external publicity for the district and the whole city of Guangzhou as a whole.

Xie Meng, associate director of the Grandview Mall, said Guangzhou is a commercial metropolis, as well as a millennium ancient capital and a world renowned tourist city. Being a symbol of Guangzhou's modernization development, Tianhe district sees the festival as a starting point to accelerate integration of culture, business and tourism, and to open up new space for the city's international development.
