Dalian Salt Chemical Group Co Ltd (DSCG) is a State-owned enterprise which was initially founded in 1848 in Dalian, Liaoning province.
Covering an area of 140 square kilometers across Jinpu New district, Wafangdian county and Changxin Island Industrial Zone, DSCG takes full advantage of Dalian’s abundant marine resources and has developed into the largest company of its kind in China’s Northeast region. The company now has 28 subsidiaries with 2,000 employees and total assets of 5 billion yuan ($735 million).
DSCG produces 800,000 tons of sea salt and processes 300,000 tons of edible salt each year; it has an annual output of 100,000 tons of chemical products from seawater; and produces more than 1,000 tons of aquatic products, including sea cucumbers, shrimps and jellyfish. It produces 70 different products in four categories –– sea salt, seawater chemicals, marine life and healthcare.
In recent years, the company has invested heavily in innovation-driven development. For example, it has created a cutting-edge intensive salt production method.
DSCG also focuses on its development of tertiary industry. Its Sea Salt World Park offering visitors the opportunity to float in seawater was opened on July 1, 2017, realizing the company’s comprehensive development.
