The Chinese-version Swan Lake, “Crested Ibis”, was performed at Wulanqiate Theater in Hohhot, Inner Mongolia autonomous region on Aug 25.
The dance drama tells the story of the habitat of rare birds are threatened through the process of modernization and urbanization, and later people try to save Crested Ibises as their awareness of environmental protection raised.
The dance drama is created by outstanding choreographers from Shanghai Song and Dance Troupe. It took four years to combine the body rhythm of Crested Ibises with classical Chinese dancing. It conveys hope and passion through the movements and postures of dancers in the drama.
