Hechi city has been giving great impetus to the construction of major transportation infrastructure all this year, which has already achieved remarkable results.
With a total investment of 4.8 billion yuan ($690 million), the construction of highway and water transportation was 48.8 percent completed in the first half of this year, more than double last year's rate of completion.
As the highlight of the city's infrastructure construction, the Hechi-Baise Expressway and Guiyang-Nanning High-speed Railway achieved investments of 1.82 billion yuan and 1.2 billion yuan in the first six months of the year, accounting for 61.5 percent of the annual investment and five times the investment made in the same period last year.
In terms of expressways, the city has spent 3.68 billion yuan, accounting for 49.3 percent of the annual investment, up 66.64 percent year-on-year. Of this year's available investment for road networks of 824 million yuan, 352 million yuan, or 42.71 percent, has been spent.
Additionally, the city has carried on construction of the Nandan-Xialao Expressway, the Huanjiang-Hechi first-grade highway and Donglan-Du'an county level transportation, laying a solid foundation for improved transportation infrastructure.
