Hainan's Haiken Group signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Malaysian Rubber Board at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing on Aug 20.
The two parties agreed to cooperate in promoting commercialization of modified rubber asphalt road technology and accelerating development and application of intelligent rubber tapping equipment. The fruits of cooperation will be commercialized by Hainan Rubber Group.
They will also exchange scientific talents and share information in training, research innovation and commercialization.
Teresa Kok Suh Sim, minister of the Malaysian Ministry of Plantation Industries and Commodities, said that the cooperation will promote development of both countries' rubber industry. The application of modified rubber asphalt road technology will also benefit road construction in countries along the Belt and Road.
According to Yang Sitao, chairman of Haiken Group, the company welcomes the opportunity to deepen Hainan's supply-side structural reform in agricultural reclamation, and to enhance its industrial structure and internationalization.
