Renovated from a few old stone houses in Beigang village, the homestays are run by a couple of Taiwan young people and are the last thing visitors should miss.

Pingtan is packed with stone houses and their unique architectural style, born to withstand violent storms and high waters, has become part of the city's cultural landscape.

An art community around the homestays has been set up in the village, providing visitors with an even more special experience. The community, named "Stones Can Sing", revolves around the use of the rocks to create music. The art community is so called since beautiful melodies are created when the igneous rocks, collected from the mountain near Beigang, are struck.
