The State Council approved to support eight high-tech industrial development zones in Nanjing, Suzhou, Wuxi, Changzhou, Kunshan, Jiangyin, Wujin and Zhenjiang and the Suzhou Industrial Park to launch Sunan National Innovation Park on Oct 20.
In 2017, the park’s spending on R & D took up 2.82 percent of its GDP and the number of invention patents per 10,000 heads in the park exceeded 40; the number of high-tech firms reached 9,364; its contribution rate of technological progress reached 63 percent.
With more than three years’ development, Sunan National Innovation Park has preliminarily built a group of mechanisms with different features for high-tech zones and enterprises’ innovation-driven development, industrial agglomeration, pilot areas for new policies, mass entrepreneurship, technology finance, as well as the innovation-oriented integration of all the involved parties and elements.
