The BenQ Medical Center in Nanjing, Jiangsu province, is a Sino-foreign joint venture hospital. Covering 40 hectares, the hospital will have clinical departments for internal medicine, surgery, gynecology, pediatrics, traditional Chinese medicine, and emergency.

The construction of the hospital is planned to be carried out in three stages. The first stage, with an investment of 1.6 billion yuan ($231.9 million), is used for medical treatment and is equipped with 1,500 beds. The second and third stages will be used for scientific research, clinical teaching and healthcare projects and will increase the number of beds to 3,000.
