Environmental protection industry

Jiangsu province has been successfully promoting supply-side structural reform in the environmental protection industry and strengthening the innovation capability of enterprises in recent years.

In 2017, Jiangsu's environmental protection industry achieved annual sales revenue of 836.03 billion yuan ($121.17 billion), a year-on-year increase of 6.1 percent.

High-tech enterprises related to environmental protection account for more than 10 percent of the province's total high-tech enterprises. By the end of 2017, Jiangsu province had completed construction of 11 State-level enterprise technical centers, 84 provincial-level ones and 56 engineering technology research centers.

A total of 14,465 patent applications for industrial inventions have been made and 2,546 patent authorizations.
