Fengshan county in Hechi has been pushing forward construction of water conservancy infrastructure this year, with investment reaching 67.12 million yuan ($9.77 million) by the end of June.
The county has taken various measures to raise project funds from society and government, integrating departmental agro-oriented funds and newly-added local bonds worth a total of 15.66 million yuan. The funds have been used to overcome problems in drinking water in rural areas from 2016 to 2018, benefitting 97,000 local people.
Under the authority of the Fengshan water conservancy bureau, the project of improving rural drinking water has expanded 224 rural centralized water supplies and 4,833 domestic water tanks in order to accelerate improvements in rural drinking water safety since 2016. Meanwhile, the county has established a sound quality control system to strengthen the management of project construction and ensure high-quality engineering.
