Hohhot, in Inner Mongolia autonomous region, placed 89th on a 2017 list of top 100 cities in foreign trade, according to a recent report.
Inner Mongolian cities of Ordos, Baotou and Ulaanqab also made the list.
The list, published by the statistics department of the General Administration of Customs, focused on 25 indices such as foreign trade volume, development potential and foreign trade structure.
According to the regional business department, Hohhot's foreign trade volume reached $1.6 billion, accounting for 11.5 percent of the total regional volume.
