On Aug 15, Deng Boqing, vice chairman of the China International Development Cooperation Agency (CIDCA), held talks with Arkebe Oqubay Metiku, special adviser to the Ethiopian Prime Minister with ministerial rank.
They exchanged views on Sino-Ethiopia development and cooperation history, bilateral relations and cooperation in assistance projects.

Metiku first congratulated Deng on the establishment of the CIDCA, and then introduced the economic and social development of Ethiopia in recent years and the challenges it faces.
He thanked China for its contribution to the development of Ethiopia and said that Ethiopia will actively respond to the Belt and Road Initiative and the China-Africa Cooperation Forum, and continue to strengthen the two sides’ cooperation.
The relationship between the countries has a long history. Deng was pleased with the achievements of Ethiopia's economic development and was gratified that China can participate in its development process.
He hoped that the two countries will continue to work and cooperate together to achieve more positive results.
