The Children’s Palace Choir in Dalian city, Liaoning province won four awards at the “Singing World” 16th International Festival of Choral Art which was held in Russia from Aug 3 to 8.
Competing against 40 choirs from different countries, the children’s choir took first place in the children’s choir category and second place in the folklore category. Awards for piano accompaniment and outstanding performance of a Russian song were also granted to the Dalian choir.
The choir was composed of 60 members and they sang six songs during the competition, including Russian songs and traditional Chinese songs.
The awards mark a new high for the choir after their gold medal win during a choir festival in Vienna, Austria in 2016.
