Jiangsu Maritime Institute

Jiangsu Maritime Institute was founded in 1951 and was the first in China to offer ocean and inland river seamen education and the first to carry out the STCW78/95 Convention and be recognized by the International Maritime Organization.

The institute was also one of the first in Jiangsu to introduce ISO9000 quality control standard in Party development and education management.

It has cultivated more than 130,000 technical personnel over the past 60 years specializing in ocean shipping, inland water transportation, ship manufacture, port engineering, logistics economy and trade, information business and culture tourism. Those talents have made great contributions to the China's shipping industry.
