A media delegation of 17 members from Israel arrived at Guangzhou for a special interview with the southern Chinese city from Aug 3 to 7. During the five-day tour, the media professionals visited several renowned medical institutions and technology companies in Guangzhou.
The group also held an in-depth exchange with entrepreneurs from local technology companies at the Conversations between Guangzhou and Israel held on Aug 6. They all came to an agreement that Guangzhou was the best choice for Israel companies to invest in.
"Israel companies enjoy a high level of science and technology, but a small market. Many companies seek access to international market from the very start of founding, and cooperation with China appeals a lot to them," noted Liraz Geva, chief executive of the Guangzhou Innovation Office in Tel Aviv, adding that more Israeli innovative businesses and technologies should be promoted in Guangzhou to strengthen the Sino-Israel trading tie.
Shuki Gleitman, Israel's chief scientist remarked, "the reason why we choose to cooperate with Guangzhou is because the city is the best option in China for innovative startups."
He also stated that Guangzhou boasts a promising market and strong scientific research strength.
