The Ulanmuchi (Ulan Muqir) art troupe produced a highlight of the opening of the 15th China Inner Mongolia Grassland Culture Festival with an excellent vaudeville show on Aug 8 at a theater in Hohhot, Inner Mongolia autonomous region.
Ulanmuchi, a song and dance troupe from Inner Mongolia, has played a key role in the spreading of Mongolian ethnic culture and arts for many years.
Founded in 1957 on the Mongol grasslands, Ulanmuchi now has expanded to 46 small ensembles, with over 2,800 singers and dancers. It has taken part in various events both in China and abroad.
For decades, Ulanmuchi has been dedicated to putting on diverse performances reflecting Mongolian history and traditional nomadic customs, vividly reproducing the spirit of Mongolian ethnic groups.
