Zhou Hao, a freshman of Sanya University majoring in business administration, is traveling all over China by motorcycle this summer.
Starting from his hometown of Shijiazhuang in Hebei province, he began the journey on July 5 heading northeastwards. From there, he made a U-turn to the west, towards Tibet and Sichuan; he then headed towards southern China.
He plans to travel around 20,000 km and visit hundreds of cities in a dozen provinces until Sept 24. He has now reached Inner Mongolia, triumphantly completing the first half of his journey.
According to Zhou, the trip is full of danger as well as wonders. He has experienced desperate moments such as being lost in the desert for two hours, but he has also been delivered a few helping hands by other travelers when he needed them.
He said he has dreamed about circumnavigating the globe since he was young. After he finished the college entrance examination last year, he biked from Shijiazhuang to Tianjin and Beijing on an 800-kilometer-round-trip to accumulate experience.
His next trip, a year from now, will be to countries in Southeast Asia.
