A new series of Mongolian-Chinese translation software programs was unveiled in Hohhot, North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region on Aug 7 to improve the quality and efficiency of office automation and news editing of the Mongolian language.
The 13 software programs, developed by the China Ethnic Languages Translation Bureau, include an audio-to-audio translator, an audio-to-text translator, an audio-to-text typing translator, an e-dictionary, an OCR translation, and a camera translator.
The audio-to-audio translation software will make it more convenient for Mongolian people and ethnic Han people to communicate.
It will also play an important role in promoting the use and protection of the Mongolian language and in transition of the Mongolian culture between generations.
The China Ethnic Languages Translation Bureau is a national translation institute for ethnic languages. In recent years, it has developed translation apps and programs for many ethnic languages, including Mongolian, Tibetan, Uygur, Kazakh, Korean, and Yi.
