An art show featuring intangible cultural heritage items kicked off on Fangzhou Stage in Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, on Aug 2. As one of the major activities of the Colorful Guizhou Cultural Festival, the 2018 Qian View on Intangible Cultural Heritage Art Week will last until Aug 8.
With the help of modern science and technology, the art week strives to promote Guizhou ethnic culture and provide an exchange platform for cultural and creative enterprises. It also plays a significant role in the preservation of intangible cultural heritage by increasing awareness among the general population.
The art week has seven pavilions, each with a different theme. They include 3D photography, cultural and creative products, interactive experience, live shows featuring intangible cultural heritage items, light shows, folk customs and VR technology.
Through modern science and technology, the pavilions strive to impress audiences with unique experiences revolving around intangible cultural heritage.
There are two performances every day during the art week. A day-time performance lasts from 2:30 pm to 4:30 pm and a night show runs from 7:30 pm to 9:30 pm. A variety of performances, including traditional folk art, ethnic song and dance, and chorus festival, will be featured.
Visitors are able learn about intangible cultural heritage through interesting outdoor activities such as bonfire parties, sporting events and garden parties.
The art week also provides an exchange platform for cultural and creative enterprises. Guiyang Zhigu Cultural Industrial Park will take this opportunity to attract investment and sign contracts with enterprises.
