The 2018 Thero International Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition, one of the most influential such events in China, will kick off sub-events in nine overseas cities in August.
The overseas competitions will be held in New York, Silicon Valley, Tel Aviv, Berlin, Paris, Sydney, Singapore and Seoul and last for three months. Winners of the competitions will come to Guangzhou in December for the finals.
The overseas competitions will be open to more than 1.5 million global entrepreneurs and nearly 750,000 global entrepreneurial teams. At the same time, more than 500 global innovation and entrepreneurial service organizations and international investment institutions will work together to favor outstanding projects.
The organizers stated that the overseas events are aimed at exploring and establishing an international cooperation model in innovation and entrepreneurship, expanding high-end innovative resources channels, and gradually developing a global layout.
The global project collection began in August and the global preliminary competition will begin in early September, while the semi-finals and the finals in nine overseas competitions will be held in September and from Oct 1 to Nov 11 respectively. The finals of the 2018 Thero International Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition will be hosted in early December, featuring 27 overseas teams.
The top three projects in each overseas competition will receive a free one-week trip to Guangzhou for market and capital docking, the first place winner in the overseas finals will receive a cash prize of $25,000, and the top 10 in the overseas division finals will receive a 100,000 yuan ($14,600) subsidy for settling down in Guangzhou and another 100,000 yuan in rent subsidies.
