Having been participating in the Qingdao International Beer Festival for 26 years, the Munich Hofbrau Tent is a beer sanctuary for tourists from home and abroad.
This year, the Munich beer tent in the festival's Laoshan venue has a full house again by virtue of the high-quality HB beer, the German beer-festival-style decorations and its star-rated service.
Having originated in 1589, HB beer is brewed only by water, hops, malt and yeast, rigorously in accordance with the "German Beer Purity Law", the earliest of its kind in the world, having been established in 1516.
Its brewery process is longer than for ordinary beers, according to Mr Wang, manager of the Munich Tent. This year, the tent provides tourists with HB pure draft brown beer and black beer. Around sixty or seventy barrels of beers can be sold every day, which amounts to 1080 liters to 1400 liters.
The tent is decorated in the style of a German beer festival, combining Romanesque architecture with modern elements such as acoustic optoelectronic equipment. Tourists can enjoy artistic shows and take pictures with autobots from the film Transformers in the tent.
Both Chinese and western foods are supplied, especially German cuisines such as roasted knuckles of pork, roasted fish, German hamburger and Germanic royal barbecue.
"We provide tourists with star-rated dishes and services. To make them know how we cook the seafood, we built a transparent seafood kitchen in the tent", said Wang.
The high-quality service comes along with a favorable price. Besides discounts for beers, tourists who order dishes that cost more than 100 yuan ($14.5) can enjoy a reduction of 20 yuan.
