The 2018 South China Book Festival will be held at the China Import and Export Fair Complex in Guangzhou from Aug 10 to 14.
With over 200,000 books and cultural and creative products being displayed at the 40,000-square-meter main venue in Guangzhou, the five-day event will consist of over 260 cultural activities and feature more than 350 well-known authors.
An interprovincial communication pavilion and a pavilion for New Zealand will be set up for the first time. A themed exhibition area is also in place to mark the 40th anniversary of reform and opening-up. In addition to the main venue in Guangzhou, sub-venues will be set up in 19 other cities in Guangdong.
The New Zealand pavilion will be jointly established by the South China Book Festival and the city of Auckland, New Zealand to showcase the culture and cultural products of the country. Visitors will also be treated to distinctive performances by Maoris artists.
During the event, smart reading services, including an official app that uses innovative technology such as Internet Plus, will be provided to promote digital reading among visitors.
