Zhejiang province in East China is poised to build up its Greater Bay Area into a world-class industrial hub amid efforts to provide strong support for its development, according to Xie Xiaobo, an official from the Zhejiang Development and Reform Commission.
Xie said that the development of the Zhejiang Greater Bay Area, an economic and industrial belt centered around Hangzhou Bay, will focus on six major areas, including building up relevant industries, innovation, urban development, transportation, the open economy and ecology.
The area will boast a number of advantages, including favorable ecological and business environments, prosperous industries, developed educational resources and convenient transportation links, according to Xie.
In the future, the greater bay is expected to act as a driving force for the industrial upgrading and the development of the digital economy of the province as a whole.
