Genghis Khan tourism week unveiled in Ejin Horoo

The 14th Inner Mongolia Genghis Khan Tourism Cultural Week opened at Genghis Khan Mausoleum in Ejin Horoo Banner, Ordos, on July 28. 

The event, organized by the Ordos Tourism Development Committee, Ejin Horoo government and the Genghis Khan Mausoleum Management Committee, features various sports and artistic activities with local characteristics.

Beginning in 2005, the cultural week has now gained a lot of popularity in the city and even in Inner Mongolia autonomous region. 

In 2010 and 2014, the event received national honors for its distinctive cultural elements and innovative design. 

The cultural week will last until Aug 4, during which time competitions of archery, wrestling, horse racing, folk song renditions and dancing will be held.
