A new science and technology park was unveiled in Xincheng district, Hohhot, Inner Mongolia autonomous region, on August 1.
Located on the east side of the Donghe River, it is to cover an area of 30 square kilometers. Work on the construction of its core area is scheduled to start in 2018.
Currently, the park is home to a variety of high-tech institutions, such as research and development centers, a Xincheng district innovation demonstration park and Inspur Group, China's leading cloud computing and big data service provider.
The new park is designed to house a number of national research institutes and high-tech industrial clusters and emerge as an engine of economic development and technological innovation.
On the same day, the Hohhot chapter of the Senior Expert Technology Center of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and a technological innovation service center were inaugurated. Both will help solve key issues in developing high-tech industries.
