Zhejiang University, one of China's top universities, is planning to set up a research institute in Quzhou, Zhejiang province, according to a notice recently released by the city's government.
The institute is aimed at cultivating high-caliber professionals and serving Quzhou's economic development by integrating resources of the university and the city.
The College of Chemical and Biological Engineering of Zhejiang University will be the main participator in the institute's development as its main research areas, in accordance with Quzhou's main industries, will be chemical engineering, energy, materials and biomedicine.
Once the institute is put into operation, it will recruit a group of graduate students, organize training courses for local engineers and help local companies address technical problems. It will be developed into a leading platform with functions of teaching, research, commercialization of academic findings and professional training.
