North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region will host a series of events in August to boost its booming tourist industry.
The provincial government will hold a culture and tourism expo in Hohhot from Aug 10-14.
The aim of the event is to promote tourism to Inner Mongolia, as well as the region's rich cultural heritage. The expo will be held in an area covering 28,000 square meters, according to the local government.
It will present the best of the region's science, culture, design, heritage and animation productions to visitors.
At the same time, a costume and headwear design competition will be staged in the region.
In addition, a creative culture and tourism design competition focusing on art featuring traditional Mongolian elements will take place in Hohhot on Aug 18.
