The 15th National Martial Arts Village Wushu Routine Match came to an end in the city of Heze, Shandong province on July 27. After many heated showdowns, the team from Yima city, Sanmenxia won 24 medals - three gold, six silver and 15 bronze.
Sponsored by the Martial Arts Management Center of the General Administration of Sports of China, the Chinese Wushu Association, the Shandong Administration of Sports and the Heze municipal people's government, the match attracted a record 1,700 athletes from across the country, divided into 100 teams.
The athletes from Yima gave a compelling showcase of wushu, which is deeply rooted in Chinese culture and tradition, and has been practiced in China for many centuries. They also demonstrated the achievements in the construction of wushu villages in Yima and further enhanced exchanges with counterparts from other cities.
