Wang Hesheng, vice-minister of the National Health Commission (NHC), attended the 8th BRICS Health Ministers Meeting in South Africa and visited Italy from July 18 to 25.
The 8th BRICS Health Ministers Meeting was held on July 20.
Wang delivered a keynote speech at the meeting, noting that China is willing to further policy exchanges and share information with BRICS in order to boost innovations and medical research, participating in global health governance.
The attending parties reached consensus on tuberculosis prevention and control, universal health coverage and drug and vaccine development. The meeting issued the Durban Declaration.
Wang Hesheng meets with Italy’s Health Minister Giulia Grillo on July 23.
During his trip to Italy from July 23 to 24, Wang met with Italy’s Health Minister Giulia Grillo. They discussed the prevention and control of contagious and chronic diseases as well as medical education.
Wang visited medical research institutions in South Africa and Italy.
