More than 500 foreign-invested companies have landed in Xiamen, East China's Fujian province, in the first half of this year, Xiamen Daily reported on July 24.
The 539 foreign companies brought in an investment of 31.57 billion yuan ($4.65 billion) from January to June 2018, up by 48.1 percent year-on-year.
Panel display, software, computer and communication equipment, and other high value-added industries are the focuses of these companies.
According to the city's commerce bureau, in recent years, Xiamen has spared no effort to improve its business climate by releasing preferential investment policies and offering efficient services, which has shored up confidence amongst potential foreign investors.
