The Harbin contest of the first China Figure Skating Club League concluded at Harbin Xiyue Skating Club on July 23, following a three-day competition.
As the fourth venue city of the league, the Harbin competition attracted the participation of around 150 people, including professional and amateur skaters.
Compared with competitions held in the first three cities of the league, Harbin was the first to include ice dancing and “doubles” competitions.
An ice dancing group from Harbin Xiyue Skating Club, comprising of 10-year-old Liu Tong and 12-year-old Ge Quanshuo, made their debut at the national-level skating competition and won first prize in the youth group’s ice dancing competition.
In addition, the Harbin contest highlighted the participation of three elderly men in the open group, including 60-year-old Hou Zhe, 58-year-old Chen Qing and Liu Wenxing, who is in his late 50s, hitting a new record for the age of elderly participants.
The three performed well and are expected to challenge skaters taking part in the Chongqing contest, which will be held from July 28 to 29.
