More than 230 youths from Guangdong, Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan gathered in Nansha district, Guangzhou on July 23 as part of a special tour of different parts of China on which they will absorb local cultures.
The event was organized by the Guangdong Youth Federation, the Guangdong Students' Federation and youth associations from Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan.
July 23 also marked the launch of their first tour to Guizhou province. In the following week, the young tourists will pay a visit to Xijiang Miao village to learn about the history and culture of Miao people, observe the Five-hundred-meter Aperture Spherical Radio Telescope (FAST) and have a peek at the big data blueprint in Guizhou by visiting the city's big data center.
The activity has been held for 18 years and has gradually become a branded project for youth of the four regions in which they enhance mutual understanding and cooperation. It has played a positive role in promoting Hong Kong and Macao's long-term prosperity and stability and the peaceful development of cross-strait relations.
To help the youths better understand the development prospects and future opportunities in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, the event also includes activities involving the plannings for the Nansha Free Trade Zone and a special report on the methods and benefits of youth cooperation between Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao.
