Baotou Rare Earth High-Tech Industrial Development Zone is to have an aircraft remanufacturing industrial park thanks to a cooperation agreement signed with Air Asia Aircraft Dismantling Technology Co on July 17, reports Baotou Daily.
Total investment in the industrial park will be 10 billion yuan ($1.47 billion).
The new facility will focus on aircraft recycling and remanufacturing as its core industry and develop related industries including general aviation maintenance and repair services, aircraft modification, machinery manufacturing research, component production, and sales.
The number of re-manufactured aircraft will reach 80 annually after the completion of the first phase of the project. The output value is expected to exceed 8 billion yuan
The new industrial park is expected to help make Baotou the largest aircraft remanufacturing production base in China.
Based in Hong Kong, Air Asia Aircraft Dismantling Technology Co is a company specializing in the dismantling of large civil retired commercial aircraft, aviation consumable parts sales, aircraft maintenance, and the import and export of aviation materials.
